Public figures past and present

January 27, 2016  Written by Gemma   Published in Language Learning Tools

If you had a twitter account and could follow any public figure from the past ,who would you follow?

Can you tell me about a famous person who inspires you to be better?

Do you think famous people have the right to have a private life?

If you could influence people like a celebrity does, how would you use it for the benefit of the planet?

Tell me about a famous person in your country?

Learning foreign languages

January 19, 2016  Written by Gemma   Published in British Centre News, Did You Know....?, Language Learning Tools

Some questions for you!

1.) How many foreign languages do you know?

2.) Do you think that learning a foreign language is difficult?

3.) What methods do you use to learn a foreign language?

4.) Do you watch television in English to help you improve?

5.) Do you read books and magazines in English?

6.) If you could learn another language, what would it be?

7.) Do you think that visiting the country helps you to learn the language?

8.) What motivates you/inspires you to learn other languages?

“Learning and practicing something, for instance a second language, strengthens the brain,” said Ping Li, professor of psychology, linguistics and information sciences and technology. “Like physical exercise, the more you use specific areas of your brain, the more it grows and gets stronger.”
